the life of a slob

Holidays suck when you’re in a different country because you don’t have your family and childhood friends to enjoy them with. So the past two days of holidays have been nothing but house work, email and sleeping for me, oh and the mandatory geeking out. It’s cool, I got time to myself to do some fooling around with stuff I just hadn’t had the time for when it was a normal work day.

So my best friend the past two days when the world was dead, was the 7 eleven nearby, and the vending machine downstairs.

I miss my family :'(.

It’s a weekend, and I’m dreading the Monday already.

When are they going to invent the time machine….

My housemates are out of the country visiting family so I have the house to myself. I have settled in the living room, change of environment because I’ve always usually stayed locked up in my room. I KIND OF get more things done when I am outside my room. My room has become a place for sleeping and nothing but, ever since I got back. And so.

Not all that bad though, my office mate invited me over for dinner last night so it was fun to hang out with them too. Perfect culmination to 2 days of lazy laundry and email and such.

Back to reality baby.

Support code: 0x80004005

I was syncing my Windows Mobile phone today and I couldn’t get a successful sync no matter how much I deleted and re-added my device. It kept giving me  Support code: 0x80004005. I found this forum post that mentioned how it was a "per item error".  The solution advised was to remove and re-add the sync partnership. That didn’t work for me, instead, I went to Mobile Device Settings -> Change content sync settings

image

I then unchecked all but one item (i.e. Contacts) then did a sync. When it was successful, I proceeded to check the next item, and so forth.

image

I was expecting to get an error in syncing when I got to the item that contained the possibly problematic item being synchronized but I managed to end up with everything checked and synched successfully. I don’t know what was causing the problem, maybe it will recur soon.

i’m back..

Still can’t believe it’s been a month since I left this room after hurriedly packing up my stuff, excited to go home, all that after 10 months of not touching Philippine soil. It was definitely a good break, and a much needed one. 2008, a meaningful year for me. I’m excited to get started and I can’t wait to find out what’s in store this year. I feel it’s going to be big.

I miss my family, I miss my friends. To all those people back home, thanks for making time to meet up and catch up. That’s another set of memories that I will carry with me while I am here. 🙂
